Death of Colonel León De Pallejas, 1866.
This man was my great-great-great grandfather. There’s a street named after him in in the Uruguay’s capital, Montevideo. There is more information on his military history here but it is all in Spanish, y el traductor de Google aveces no sirve para nada cuando se pasa por Ingles.
Apparently the man was very friendly but was incredibly brutal on the battlefield. Interesting to see that the fire runs in my blood from way back.
